Important Announcement for Aloha Airlines and ATA Airlines Customers

Like the rest of Hawaii, we are saddened by the recent shut down of Aloha Airlines.  If you have purchased a ticket on Aloha Airlines or ATA Airlines for a future flight and are unable to exchange it for a flight on another carrier, the following are your options (depending on your method of payment) in requesting a refund:

  • If you used your Hawaii Central Credit Union Debit card or Credit card to purchase your ticket, please call 1-800-449-7728 or visit our branch to file a claim.
  • If you paid for the ticket(s) by cash or check, please file a claim with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court.  Claims must be filed with the courts in cities where the airlines filed for bankruptcy: Honolulu in the case of Aloha and Indianapolis in the case of ATA.  The form may be downloaded by clicking here

Notice of Change Affecting Members
with Checking Accounts


Effective December 1, 2007, Bank of Hawaii is limiting the amount of cash that you may include in your Hawaii Central Credit Union checking account deposits made at their branches. The maximum cash that can be deposited at Bank of Hawaii to your checking account is $1,000 per day.

Spoof Attacks

Someone is sending out spoof e-mails using our domain name. Please disregard and delete the message. We are trying to resolve the problem. Thanks.

New SPAM Attempt

A new SPAM e-mail message is being sent out informing you of a disabled credit card:

Dear VISA card holder, this is an automated message to inform you that
your Credit Card (issued by a credit union financial institution) has
been disabled.

In order to re-activate your account please call free 313-9181380.

Please notice that your credit card is now disabled and you will not be
able to use it in any financial transactions. We are sorry but this is a
security measure made by your Credit Union.

Beware of Fake E-mail and Phone Scams

If you receive e-mails that contain Hawaii Central Credit Union, it is more than likely a spam. Hawaii Central Credit Union does not currently solicit to nor communicate to our members via e-mail. Special tip for phone scams:

What if a company asks me to verify my personal information? Ask the company to provide you with their contact number and let them know that you are currently busy. Let them know that you will call them back with the information when you are free. The next step is to call the customer support number for the company that you are dealing with and verify that the call that was made to you.
